Richard Branson today told how he was bitten by a 'shark' in the Cayman Islands – then cut his head open by walking into a glass door.
The Virgin boss said he was swimming with dozens of stingrays off the coast of Grand Cayman when he felt a 'painful sensation' on his wrist.
He later posted a picture of the bite on Twitter, saying: 'Been in the wars in the Cayman Islands – bitten by a shark'.
The entrepreneur said he referred to it as a shark bite because rays were part of the shark family.

Writing on the Virgin website, he said: 'We were surrounded by stingray as well as stunning coral reefs and tropical fish.
'But the rays were feeding all around and they mistook yours truly for their food.
