Shocking camera footage captured the moment an off-duty cop interrupted an LA burglary leading to a shootout that left the suspect dead.
LAPD released a surveillance camera footage on Saturday that shows Bakerfield police officers in a gunfire exchange that killed 29-year-old suspect Jason Taylor Boles.
An off-duty police officer of the LAPD's reserve program called 911 at around 11.30am after he saw Boles possibly burglarizing homes in the 11300 block of Andretti Avenue in Bakersfield, California.
A nearby security camera shows Boles pulling a sweatshirt and a handgun out of the trash. He approached the officer's car with the gun.
'What happened, huh? I don't have anything,' Boles was heard asking the off-duty police officer while he was on the phone with the 911.

'Get out of here,' the officer said, 'Stand back.'
'I'm an off-duty officer and I need help out here,' the officer was heard saying in the 911 call as the suspect fired multiple gunshots at him.

Police bodycam footage shows officers repeatedly told Boles to drop his gun.
'Show me your hands,' officers were heard saying in the video. 'We will not shoot at you if you put both hands out.'
Boles was killed after attempts to get him surrender failed, Bakersfield Police Department said.
A semi-automatic handgun was recovered from Boles.
Sergeant Dennis Eddy, Officer Brandon Price, and Sergeant Ryan McWilliams opened fire at Boles in the confrontation and were placed on administrative leave.
Officer Price was struck in the leg and treated on site. The off-duty officer's vehicle was also struck by gunfire.

LAPD said the off-duty officer is an employee with a badge can carry around a weapon.
The off-duty officer who initially confronted Boles has not been identified.
'At this point in the investigation, the Bakersfield Police Department has not identified a victim of a burglary or location of a burglary related to this incident,' the Bakersfield police department said in a statement last month.
The shootout left two residents' property hit by stray bullets. One hit the front lawn of a resident, and other bullets hit the side of another home.
Boles' mother told KGET Bakersfield that Boles was released from jail two days before he was killed.
He was in the Andretti area looking for a friend, the mother said. Boles was said to be fearing for his life and struggled with addiction.
Boles was captured by a doorbell video sobbing and begging for help two weeks before the officer-involved fatal shooting.
