With her face twisted beyond recognition, the pretty blonde donned a grey chunky jumper and black leather skirt as she grabbed her co-star Brendan Cowell.

In another shot, the star was seen laying on top of him, soaking wet as she scrabbled around in the dirt.

Yerma - based on the 1934 play by Federico García Lorca - tells the story of a married peasant woman who endures unbearable psychological and cultural challenges when she finds that she’s infertile.

However, in a modern retelling, director Simon Stone shifted the drama from a rural Spanish setting to contemporary London.

The bold move was one praised by critics, who gave the play rave reviews.

The Daily Mail's Libby Purves described Yerma as 'sharply witty.'

She elaborated: 'This sharply witty, slangily modern updating makes the community our own online world: A lifestyle confessional journalist blogs every step of her struggle, betraying unsayable feelings of resentment, jealousy, dark hope that her own sister will miscarry, and frustrated contempt for her husband.'

So it was no wonder that Billie radiated with happiness and beauty as she attended the press night afterparty on Thursday.

She's been pictured letting her hair down recently with new boyfriend Johnny Lloyd, but she opted for a more subdued night to celebrate her debut.

She tied her tresses in a stylish updo and decorated her large chestnut peepers with lashings of mascara. Her lips were given a slick of matte rouge and her cheek bones were subtly contoured.

Billie was joined by castmates John MacMillan, Brendan Cowell, Charlotte Randle, Maureen Beattie and director Simon.

The ensemble certainly looked to be in high spirits as they posed with their arms around one another, smiles on their faces.

For all her success as a singer and actress, Billie recently revealed it was difficult living life as a role model.

She told the Daily Mirror: 'It’s not easy just to be really successful and ambitious and accomplished.

'It’s not as simple as that. It’s great there are loads of strong role models, but it’s also great to see the truth behind that which is that it’s not something that comes easy. There’s always a struggle. That’s the truth.'

Billie divorced husband Laurence Fox in May.

They married in December 2007 and went on to have kids Winston, seven, and Eugene, three.

She is currently dating indie rocker Lloyd, and the pair enjoyed a heavy night out together in Camden last month where the former Tribes frontman Johnny Lloyd appeared to sniff a suspicious looking substance.
